Debonair Sailor Induction Photo

Central Elementary School hosted the inaugural induction ceremony for the CES Debonair Sailors Leadership Program on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, celebrating a new student leadership initiative focused on character development, mentorship, and positive male role models in grades 3–5.

The ceremony took place in the Central Elementary School cafeteria. Doors opened at 5:00 p.m., and the program began promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Established in November 2025, the CES Debonair Sailors Leadership Program was created to recognize and develop young male students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and a commitment to serving as positive examples within their school community. The program provides students with structured mentorship, character-building experiences, and opportunities to develop essential life skills that support their growth both inside and outside the classroom.

Participants in the program engage in activities designed to strengthen confidence, responsibility, and brotherhood while reinforcing the importance of academic achievement and personal accountability. The program’s motto, “Anchored in Leadership. Built on Brotherhood. Guided by Character,” reflects its mission to cultivate student leaders who uplift others and contribute positively to their school environment.

The initiative is led by a Central Elementary School educator and General Education Teacher Assistant who is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education. The program emphasizes representation, mentorship, and culturally responsive support, with a focus on ensuring that all students feel seen, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

The induction ceremony will formally recognize the inaugural class of Debonair Sailors and highlight their commitment to leadership, growth, and service within the school community.

Community members, families, and school stakeholders are invited to attend and support this milestone event celebrating student leadership and achievement.
